This evening I worked on the nylon spacers between the canopy skin and the frame. (Where there is a gap on each side.) I put them in place and looked them over and wasn't happy with them. They stick out on each side. So, I decided to trim them to size. (Easier said than done.)
I started by trimming them with the SonicCrafter. It seemed like it would slice right through the material. It ended up just vibrating the heck out of it and making a crappy looking cut. After doing a few, it was obvious that this wasn't the way to go. I thought of using the bandsaw... but I like having fingers. (The pieces are so small, it would be a headache cutting them this way.)
I was trimming the SonicCrafter cut with a razor blade when I decided to try making the entire cut with a razor blade. It worked great. I actually had to pound the blade through the piece of nylon, but it ended up looking great.
After cutting them all to size, I used the blind rivets to secure them in place.
