This afternoon I started work on the canopy stiffener.
I started out trying to bevel the edges of the holes using a goofy idea I had last night. I drilled a hole 1/2 inch bigger than the hole in the aluminum. I centered the hole on the larger hole, put a croquet ball on the hole and whacked it with a hammer. It made a nice bevel, but I couldn't get the side even.
So, I ended up using the method in the plans. I build a wood device to work a bevel into the holes. Next, I used a similar device to bend the flanges.
It then worked the pieces to make them fit the curve of the canopy.
