This evening I spent a few hours working on the latch assembly. I stuck the UHMW tape on the angles and trimmed the excess. Then temporarly bolted the pieces together. I couldn't seem to keep the assembly perfectly centered in the slot. After trying a number of ideas, I finally came up with one that seemed to work great. I had been using tag board to give enough space for the handle to work smoothly. I ended up folding it over the moving handles and letting it stick out through the grooves. That centered the handle perfectly. I drilled the holes for the rivets and clecoed the unit in place.
