This evening I re-built the canopy latch mechanism.
First, I got the pieces shaped the way they should be shaped. The pieces are stamped out and need some major adjustments.
Next, I clamped the pieces in place EXACTLY like they should be for the mechanism to work correctly and fit the skin. This actually took a good deal of adjusting. When everything was the way I thought it should be, I drilled the holes. I actually drilled them in a scrap piece of angle first and checked the way everything worked. The latch worked correctly and FIT correctly... so I drilled the top and bottom angle.
I still need to cut a section out of each angle for the attachment.
I spent the rest of the evening cleaning up the hangar. I try and straighten it up each evening before I leave. But it had been months since I did some real cleaning.
