I saved the giant task for last today. I had bolted the Vans gascolator to the firewall about a year ago. After talking with Corey, I decided to switch to the Andair gascolator. (I wanted something quick to check and clean. But the clincher was how tough it is to safety wire the Vans version. The Andair gascolator safety wires on top.)
I fabricated a bracket so the old gascolator holes would work on the new bracket. I started with a big chunk of angle iron. After I had all the holes in the correct spot, I started trimming it down to size. It ended up looking rather funky, but it should do the trick and hopefully isn't too heavy.
I will need to order a new line from the gascolator to the carb, but everything else worked like a charm.
I ended the evening cleaning up the shop. The camlocs and the gascolatro construction made quite a mess.
