Brief Description:  Hole for brake lines

This afternoon I worked on getting everything ready for the brake lines. (I asked Bill, a great local A&P to help me bend the aluminum. I would hate to screw up the brakes.) I hadn't drilled the hole through the floor of the fuselage yet. I was worried that the right landing gear leg might be a bit out of line. When I installed it, the frame was a bit off. Vans had me put a small spacer between the side of the fuselage and the frame. (I have been worried about it being a problem for a year.

With Bill's help, we lifted the fuselage onto taller saw horses and installed the gear legs. (Easier said than done.) On the second one, we used a bit of WD40 and it slid right on... and off. The first one was about impossible to remove.

When they were both in place and the bolts installed, we measure from the end of the gear to the back of the plane. (Bill used the same spot for each.) They measured within 1/64 of an inch. YEA!

So, I drilled a pilot hole from the top. (The hole was a bit off on the right side, so I slid a piece of tubing onto the drill to center the hole to the hole in the frame. Everything worked great. EXCEPT... I layed one of the huts for the fitting down and couldn't find it.
