I glued the aluminum reinforcing strips to the fiberglass tip. I used a super thin coat of silicone on these strips. There is some flex in the pieces and it seems like you might need some flex in the bond. (The bond just holds the strips in place until the pull rivets are put in place.)
I noticed that the other tip to aluminum joint seems rigid.
