This morning I decided to do a number of small projects. I was going to start out test fitting the fuel vent I worked on a few days ago. The plans call for a washer... that I couldn't find. So, I decided to go through all of the parts and straighten them out. Putting like parts together and bagging parts in labeled baggies so things would be easier to find. I never did find the freakin washers. (I guess I'll put an order in for them.)
Next, I decided to install the firewall passthrough fittings. AGH! I wasn't able to find them either. (I later learned how they go about putting them together... I think I'm going to order actual firewall fittings.)
So, I went to item three. I installed the gascolator. (Twice) The first time, the fuel fitting that goes through the firewall wouldn't thread on. So, I removed everything and filed the hole just a bit larger. Then, I put everything back together again, using plenty of red RTV to to seal the holes.
