I used a tip I from another builder to take the threads off the union used for the fuel vent. I put the union in the drill press. (Being careful to just grab the tubing above the threads) With the drill on, I used a file to grind down the threads. First a coarse file, fine file, then sand paper, and finally with a scotch brite pad. The union looked so nice, I didn't want to cut it at a 45...
I came up with an interesting way of cutting the 45. I was thinking of using a miter box, but the cut is too near the nut fitting. I ended up clamping the union to a board, then used the bandsaw. I set the guide at 45 degrees and cut VERY slowly.
I also drilled the holes in the floor of the fuselage for the vents.
I still need to glue screen on the bottom of the vents... then they are good to go
(I ordered the fuel lines from Bonac earlier this week!)
