I decided to dive head first into the cabin frame assembly this evening. I have spent a few hours going over the drawings and reading the trials and tribulations other builders have had!
First, drilling the 1 1/2 hole in the frame assembly is harder than is should be. The pre-drilled hole in the frame is NOT in the correct place. It's just enough off, that you can't drill another pilot hole. So, I used the step bit to make the hole much larger. Then, I clamped a piece of plywood behind the hole and marked the center of the hole on the plywood. Then, I centered the hole saw pilot bit on the mark. It worked like a charm.
Next, I clamped everything together and checked how everything fit together. The assembly is 3/8 on an inch to wide. I measured, re-measered, and re-remeasured a number of times. FInally, I made the cut. (Each of the frame pieces are $60 so I hope the dang cuts are correct.)
