This evening I worked on the wing fairings. The right side took a considerable amount of thinking and adjusting. Two of the attachment points are already on the airplane. (It uses the screws in that hold the tank on the wing.) I first drilled all the holes out to a size 40. After clecoing everything in place it looked like it was going to work so, I drilled it out for the #8 screws that will be screwed into the nutplates.
Next, I measured out 3/16 inch away from the fuselage and trimmed the fairing with the grinding wheel.
The left side went much quicker. I ended up using the bottom tank mount screw to pull everything into place right from the get-go.
I finished by deburring, cleaning up the edges, and dimpling the skin.
