Brief Description:  Wing Attach 3 – Close Tolerance Bolts

Putting in the close tolerance bolts ended up being much easier than I thought because… Cory had us get the bolts super cold so they would shrink in size. Before installing the bolts, we dropped them in a can of dry ice and acetone. Being careful not to touch the bolts, Cory used mechanical fingers, to put them into place. They slid in by just tapping them with a hammer.

Luckily, we had researched the installation process. Here are a few things to remember.
- Make sure the washers are on the bottom bolts BEFORE installing them
- Install the bottom aft bolt first. You will need to get a screwdriver blade on it to hold the nut. There is NO room for a wrench.
- Don’t pound the two lower large bolts in all the way. You need to start the nut before they get all the way in.

Then, we tightened and torqued the bolts. (I can’t imagine them ever coming out or coming loose.)
