Brief Description:  Wing Attach 1

The big event for today is attaching the wing for the last time. I have read and Googled the best way to do this for the past 6 months. Then, Cory comes along and has a different way to do it. We went with Cory’s way and it worked GREAT!! So, if you are attaching your wing, please read the next few entries.

You should have AT LEAST THREE PEOPLE to attach the wing.

We set the first wing to attach up on saw horses that were close to the height the wing need to be. (We put carpeting on the saw horses to protect the wing.) As we moved the wing closer, we slid the wiring through into the fuselage. When the wings were very close, we attached the flexible fuel lines. As we moved the wing closer, we pulled through more and more of the electrical conduit.

When the wings were about 3 inches away, I climbed under the wing and used a sheet of aluminum to help the wing slide in ABOVE the metal skin attached to the bottom of the fuselage. When the wing was slid in all the way, we began installing the bolts.
