Brief Description:  Fitting the bottom cowling - Part 1

Fitting the bottom cowling is tricky. I am just tinkering with the fit while I try to figure out how to progress.

Problems
1. cutting the slot for the nose gear. I had marked where to cut using a square. I don't think the back face of the cowling is square. (I ended up marking the center based on the forward part of the cowling. It turns out my measurement was pretty dang close.)
2. The forward face of the top and bottom cowlings don't match up. (I tried trimming a bit of the sides and it fits a bit better. Inspecting the fit with a mirror shows that the fit needs to be filed or sanded.)
3. The strap I use to clamp the bottom to the top keeps slipping foward. (I ended up using duct tape to hold it in place. Seems to be working.)
4. What do I trim first. If I trim the back, after I trim it, the top will shift in a bit. If I trim the top, when I trim the back everything will shift up.

I also took off the top cowling this evening and worked on the fit. When I put everything in place, it seems to shift about an 1/8 of an inch to the right.
