I ordered up two of the map box kits from Van's aircraft. The boxes are made from two identical halves. That are already punched with full size holes and bent to shape. So it was a simple matter of deburring edges, clecoing, and riveting together with solid 1/8" rivets. I decided to slope my map boxes down to clear some structure tubing behind the panel. This also allows the boxes to sit more level during climbs and with the aircraft in the taildragger configuration. So I trimmed the angles on the front to allow the boxes to slope down.
