My replacement hinges arrived today. After talking with Ken at Van's I decided to order replacement rather than cut a portion out and add a smaller section in and redrill. This just makes me feel better and makes for a nicer looking assembly. I did the match drill tonight and will cleco and re=match drill the 4 holes I messed up the first time. Live and learn. I hope. Take note new builders....if the plans don't look right, they probably are. Van's have put together a great kit with excellant plans. This is my first build project and I am sure there will be more mistakes. Only a few I hope. I have a lot of great friends in Fond du Lac area and probably should ask them for more input when in doubt.
