I decided to use #4 washers to back up the rivets thinking it would make it harder for them to pull through if things don't go right. If you use washers you need to make sure you hold them tight to the fuselage while you are pulling the rivet otherwise the washer will end up loose. I had four or five that I need to removed and reinstalled. I was originally going to paint the windshield black on the edge but after seeing the white I decided to go that way.
