As I mentioned in a previous post, these 5" diameter 1/16" wall thickness tubes were hard to find, but reasonably priced. I took a piece of paper and wrapped it around the previous tail section to mark the location of all the holes. I then used my center punch and transferred all the holes onto the new piece. I drilled out the holes and with a little touch up work on the deburring wheel I had a perfect replica, but with the additional length to accomodate the (2) 12V 6Ah Lithium iron phosphate batteries. I spent 3 hours working on this part to get it close to completion. I still need to add some foam to keep the batteries in place. I also have some wiring, a final coat of paint and some holes to drill for the tail cone to install. The red and black screw terminals stick up through the ballast tube. You need to unscrew these terminals before installing or removing the batteries.
