Brief Description:  Wiring for Wing Tip Lighting

Today I took care of the wiring for the future wing tip lights. I decided to use the small 3/16" holes that run through all the rips to prevent the wire from bouncing around. I chose 4-conductor stranded 22wag wire. Even though the wings are made of aluminum I will use a separate ground wire. This wiring scheme provides Nav, Strobe, Sync and Ground. Routing the wire through the holes was no easy feat. I ended up using 3/32" x 36" TIG wire, 6 sections were joined together with heat shrink tubing. I fished the rod through the entire length of the wing and attached string to the end of the rod with heatshrink. After the string was pulled back through the wing, the rods were detached from the string. I then used heat shrink to attach the stranded wire to the string to pull it all the way through the wing. Several attempts had to be made, but in the end it worked out.
