With the wing internal control system finished, my neighbor can over to help me turn the wings right-side-up on the saw horses so it would be easy for me to slip the wings back into place after the fuselage control work was completed.
I fabricated a simple aluminum fixture (image #1) to be clamped to the centerline of the instrument panel, to hold the control stick in the centered position while assembling and adjusting the joiner push rods in the fuselage. The outboard ends of the joiner pushrods were attached to the aileron joiners with temporary hardware. One of the pushrods had both threaded ends trimmed by about 3/16” to bring the joiner parallel to the fuselage side. The other push rod did not require trimming.
To check for parallelism of the joiners with the fuselage sides, a short, straight piece of wood was clamped to the fuselage tubing adjacent to the end of the joiners, and used as a measurement reference point for both ends (image #2.)
