After coming home from the SportAvex airshow where we mingled with other builders, caught up with some aquaintances and made some new industry contacts obviously motivation was high. It wained a little after the battle we had driving the rivets in the corner of the rudder stop angle, but the trick here was to remove the plastic guide from the back-rivet set and use that instead of trying to get funky with the mushroom set and a bucking bar on the *outside*. Next job was to run the rudder cables and attach them to the rudder; that was kind of exciting. Now, ground adjustable rudder pedals for me... this is where the evening kind of fell apart...
I dug out my RV-8 ground adjustable rudder pedal kit, spread the contents on the floor, took a photo. Ok, pre-requisites out of the way, how does this thing go together. Hmm, doesn't look quite like mine... it turned out to be a kit for an 8A. Bugger! Ah well, an email to Vans and a delay in progress I suppose. Bit of an arse when you're all excited having come home from a home-builder focused airshow and seen 13 RVs beating up the skies...
