Brief Description:  Rear seat throttle + other

Vans told me that the aft control bracket wasn't structural so slotting the holes slightly would be ok. Did that and it now goes together without binding. I'm sure it will be ok. FedEx didn't manage to deliver my replacement VS bracket and spacer again today; I wouldn't have left authorization to just leave it but I was told yesterday afternoon when I phoned them that they wouldn't deliver again until Wednesday. They came a day early; typical.

Anyway, I decided to fit the rear seat throttle while I was waiting. I removed the nutplates from the bulkheads and match-drilled the rear seat throttle bracket in place, then drilled and dimpled for nutplates on the bracket. Next I cut the holes in the bulkheads for the pushrod to go through; that was tricky and would have been a hole lot easier had I thought about it before I put them together. The hole on the center section bulkheads also overlaps the bulkhead caps which makes drilling tricky. The front seat throttle bracket also needed to be removed (again) to drill the forward bulkhead, then re-fitted to mark where the hole came through, then removed to have some material trimmed away so the pushrod clears it. Cut the pushrod to length but found I don't have a 1/4"-28 UNF tap to thread the ends for the rod-end bearing & clevis, so will need to order one tomorrow. Cleaned it up ready for priming anyway.

Finally, I removed the trim tab from the left elevator and dug out my replacement trim tab horns. I need to remove the old ones which were set for manual trim, and then cut and fit the new ones which are for the electric trim which I decided to change to. Then I discovered the electric elevator trim kit has new pre-cut horns in anyway, so I guess I bought the replacements for nothing. Ah well, at least they were cheap. Tomorrow I'll remove the old ones and get the new ones match-drilled and ready to be primered. I need to find out what rivets to use, though, since the original was riveted in place with AN426AD3 solid rivets, but now the trim tab is closed up so I'l
