Vans confirmed my feelings by email this morning; yep, take it apart and prime. As with most things the doing was a lot easier than the thinking. I had the rod end out in ten minutes and it also occurred to me that I only needed to take one end out not both. Primered the inside of both pushrods and then left to dry while I went and sorted some bits and pieces in town...
