Little bit by little bit this thing comes together. Jackie has her exam tomorrow so no assistance for me, but after that she's done until after Christmas so I'm hoping we can make some headway. I'm supposed to be skydiving tomorrow but I think the weather won't co-operate which is a shame since Jackie won't be around. Never mind, I suppose I'll be forced to relax!
Anyway, tonight I decided to look and see what more I could do without needing someone else. I riveted the forward edge of the F-850 bottom skin to the F-802k crossmember. Again, I used -4 rivets here instead of the -3.5's that Vans calls for. Then cleco'd the crossmember to the F-822 floor and riveted the F-850 to the F-802M intercostal ribs. I thought I was done there, but I decided to also rivet the four AN470AD4-5 rivets on the fwd side of the F-820 side skin spar cutout. I had to take the training wheels(!) off to do this. To do the remaining rivets around the spar cutout I shall also need to remove the temporary spars, but I'd rather do that *after* I set as many of the rivets in the bottom/side skins as possible so things have absolutely no chance of moving anywhere. Those remaining rivets inside need Jackie's help anyway. No pics today, sorry!
