Brief Description:  Elevator bellcrank bracket, seat belt brackets

Vans hadn't included the AN470AD3-4 rivets for the elevator bellcrank bracket in my kit so I had to order some from Aviation & Performance Parts, which I did by email last night. They arrived today and so I was able to continue. I was unable to get a squeezer onto those side rivets and I was a little worried that the universal rivet set I had was too large. Well, I was right to be worried: even though a test with some scrap went just fine, the actual rivets didn't and I smiled the baggage ribs. I put this down to the tight access for the gun, and having to leab over awkwardly into the fuselage to do it. Damn. Well, they're not coming out again: I reckon I'd do more damage if I tried to replace them.

Following on from doing the elevator bellcrank bracket, I went ahead and bolted the rear seat lap belt attach brackets to the lower longeron. This took a little persuasion to get them first in between the longeron and the angle that sits on top, and then to get the holes lined up and the bolts in place. The forward most bolt especially is a little tricky to get a spanner onto to do up properly. Nonetheless, they're done and I then got side-tracked making a note of all the bolts and screws on the fuselage assembly that I hadn't yet added to my 'torque record' spreadsheet. I ran out of time then to continue rivetting the arms rests and such like, so that will need to wait until next time. Meanwhile, I have 'paperwork' to complete...
