I was skydiving day, but when I got home I managed to get some time in the workshop and complete the center section. Getting the seatbelt lugs and forward control mount fitted to the center section assembly was a little fiddly, but I found the easiest wasy was to insert a smaller sized drill bit in from the aft side, through the spacer, then the seatbelt lugs and out the forward side and the control mount. Then it was easy enough to push the drill bit out using the bolt. Job done!
With the center section re-assembled, I rivetted the forward flange as per the destructions, leaving the relevant holes open for the mid-cabin brace. Then I cleco'd the whole thing back onto the rest of the forward fuselage assembly to get the pictures. There it will stay while I continue work on the seat rib sub-assembly. Actually, this whole thing is getting a little too heavy for Jackie and I to move around now, so I wonder how long it will be before we move the assembly to the saw horses...
