I'd like to say I started construction of the fuselage tonight, but that isn't entirely accurate! I got into the garage a little later than planned, and since I have limited space I have had to simply place all parts under the work table. Of course, this means plenty of fishing around trying to locate the correct parts.
Shown in the pictures are examples of the new plans and instructions. Much better than the old ones as you can see. The parts shown are those required for the first part of the firewall construction as shown on page 8-1 of the instructions. Some of these parts were a little tricky to find,. For example, though shown on the plans, if you haven't looked there yet you might struggle to find F-801H-R-1 and F-801H-L-1. That's because it is actually one piece labelled F-801H and you cut it in half to get the -R and -L parts! Moral: *check the plans*! Also, the backing plates F-801L might also elude you: they're in bag 2193 - I knew I had seen them, but it took a while to remember where!
Anyway, after sorting these bits out, reading the instructions, the only thing I really did tonight was highlight some of the notes in the plans, and mark the bend line on the firewall that happens in one of the later steps. Still, its a start, right?!!
