Brief Description: Right aileron replacement skin & stiffeners
I was hoping to get the replacement skin that Vans sent me for the one that was supplied defective, and all the stiffeners ready for priming. Trouble is, I ran out of both time and cable ties! The replacement skin has been match drilled to the previously match-drilled stiffeners but it still requires edge finishing. Half of the stiffeners have been done and now ready for priming. The other half have only been shaped and not yet edge-finished, scotchbrighted or dimpled. I guess I'll have to finish this tomorrow night. Once these are done I'll start looking at the first flap and when I have a load of parts ready for priming from that I'll do everything and move back onto the assembly of the aileron. I don't have much primer left so I'm trying to cut down the number of priming sessions I'm doing so it lasts as long as possible. Last thing I want to have to do is go and spend $220 on more primer when I won't even be ordering the fuselage kit for a few months...
