Brief Description:  Fitting the canopy - SIKA time!

Well, today was indeed a busy day, with most of it spent on and off in the workshop getting the canopy all glued up. Here's how we did it:-

First off, We took the canopy of the frame and raised the frame to a more comfortable working height on some roller stands. We taped the frame to the stands so it couldn't roll off. While Jackie cleaned and scuffed the frame, I set about sanding smooth all the edges of the canopy. With that done, we then cleaned the frame with meths, scuffed the paint where we would be applying SIKA and cleaned with meths again. Then I applied a first layer of tape which will get peeled off when we apply the 'cosmetic coat' of SIKA. Then Jackie applied a second layer, slightly overlapping the first, which would get peeled after the initial 'bond coat' of SIKA (later this day). With the frame ready, we lifted the canopy onto it and put two layers of tape in a similar fashion, onto the canopy. Then the canopy came back off, got cleaned with meths, scuffed, and then cleaned again.
