Brief Description:  Drill canopy frame/roller assy

Drilled the frame/roller assembly tonight. Because of the spacer to lift the frame we don't have as much material left as would be preferable, though it is enough I think.

I'm using Ø5mm ST-ST quick release pins from Jergens Inc, but they're actual measured diameter runs around 4.92mm - 4.96mm. I went for these pins as they give me the grip length I was after and if I needed to revert to an AN3 bolt the diamter is not too far away, 3/16" being roughly 4.75mm.

Anyway, I drilled first to 2mm, then to 3.5mm and finally to 3/16", hoping that the hole would actually drill a little larger and the pins would be a shug fit. Well, no joy. They don't go. So tomorrow I'll nip out to Hand Tool House and pick up a 4.8mm and a 4.9mm drill bit and also a 5mm reamer. It may seem overkill or over-cautious but the spring-loaded balls on the pins only provide about 0.25mm diameter increase to hold, which is why I want things nice and snug, so there's no fear of them coming out unwanted. As mentioned previously, I'm also retaining the option to use AN3 bolts should this plan not work out.
