Hmmm. Rolled the final section of leading edge (the right way this time!) and fitted the rod-ends. I then decided to trial fit the elevator to the horizontal stabilizer ... and I'm very glad I did. I found out two things:- 1) there's no way the AN3 bolt is going through the 412/413 brackets on the HS, but worse 2) the counterbalance on the elevator fits very neatly between the top and bottom skin of the HS. Its going nowhere. See the picture for detail. I've emailed Vans about this. Odd. Both parts are built as per the plans... 07-Dec: got a reply from Vans - seems I hadn't noticed on DWG3 that the HS skin needs to be trimmed. Phew! I'll do that tonight then...
