Brief Description:  Stick wiring & strobe PSU

Since I ordered some stuff from Vans the other day I finally got some MK-319-BS rivets and was able to fit nutplates to the top angle for the strobe power supply mount. I screwed the mounting plate on and fitted a 'fast-on' tab to one of the screws (removing the primer underneath first) for the ground wires. I finally was able to terminate the tail strobe cable shield to the ground tab. Using a multimeter it beeped out ok from the other end and measured 0.3 ohms resistance thorugh the airframe.

I also drilled the necessary holes for running the front stick wiring to the terminal block under the right side console. I'm going through the mid-cabing brace and then up through the cover plate. So that I can remove the plate without removing the wire I cut a slot rather than a hole. The grommet which protects the wire is essentially trapped between the mid-longeron and the angle on the cover plate which holds the modified console cover. In this way teh grommet can't go anywhere and is held in place and the wire is protected, but I can still remove the cover later without also having to disconnect and remove the wire bundle. No photos, but I will put some in when I do final fitting (it'll make way more sense then. Of course, with the cover plate slotted I was concerned it may vibrate, so I drilled the longeron for another nutplate on the other side of the slot. Again, it will make more sense when you see it in final assembly.

I also came up with some sort of plan for running the rear stick wiring through the floor panel (Will use the same idea, and will fabricate a cover over the mid-bulkheads (the two next to the pilot seat) to cover the wiring; especially since that is also where I have the rear seat disconnect switch mounted. I will also need to drill the center section bulkhead for a new snap bushing. I might do these bits and pieces tomorrow.
