Brief Description:  Wing skeleton

Well, after a long day we have made some real progress on the right wing skeleton. A big thanks to Jackie; she single-handedly edge-finished and deburred *all* the main ribs for this wing, including all the lightening holes and everything!! When she had a rib done, I would mark it's location and then drill holes for wiring conduit and Angle-of-Attack Pro tubing (where necessary). Next I would flange and flute and then assemble the completed rib into the skeleton. Once all the ribs were in I went ahead and match drilled them all to the main and rear spars. Assuming the weather is good enough tomorrow, and I don't go skydiving, we'll disassemble, deburr the holes and then clean, alodine and prime all the ribs. The AoA Pro is going in the last outboard bay. Hopefully it won't interfere with the leading edge light, but if it does I'll move it inboard one. I was thinking about the tubing run and if I take it through one of the lightening holes in the main spar, I don't want it chaffing. Although it is hard to see in the first picture below, I thought an adel clamp would do the job nicely. There's duct tape holding my mock up together, so its hard to make out. It's a small piece of aluminium angle which would be riveted to the spar web next to the lightening hole, and then the adel clamp would be bolted to it so it is oriented properly to route the tubes away from the egde and towards the bush in the next main rib. I need to run this past Vans to make sure riveting the angle to the spar won't be a problem, but if anyone else has any other ideas then let me know. Cheers.
