Brief Description:  Leading adge assembly to main spar

Finished deburring and countersinking the main spar where the fuel tank gets fitted and gave both sides a couple of coats with the rattle can zinc oxide. Then cleco'd on the leading edge. Had to grind away my Avery double offset rivet set to be able to get onto the heads of the rivets because they are right next to the main ribs. Most came out ok but I have smiled some as well. I did try to drill the first smiled one out; it wasn't that bad but I don't like smiles. It was a nerve wracking mission that eventually came out good. Nonetheless, with the subsequent smiled rivets I decided I'd probably do more damage trying to replace them so I haven't even tried. They're not badly smiled, just slightly squashed on one edge where the rivet set still wouldn't sit perfectly square on the head. Its really annoying to have to 'ruin' a tool like that, and though I'm no aircraft engineer I'm sure the rib/spar interface could be designed better to make life easier. I stopped after getting the ribs rivetted as I have to do the work I was *supposed* to do on Friday afternoon when I was priming the leading edge light parts! Tomorrow night I'll look at squeezing the leading edge skin rivets, and the forward-most rivets that attach the main ribs to the spar flange where the tank goes, because the tank skin doesn't capture those ones.
