Brief Description:  Chemical trays

Spent an hour or so adding some drain taps to the chemical trays I use for cleaning and alodining. The first trays I had were the two plastic ones (one for degreaser and one for alodine). These were great but not big enough for the wing ribs. Once I had done the cleaning, I would pour the contents back into the original containers from one corner, filtering through a paper towel or cloth to get the crap out. This worked well. When I started the wings, I realized that the ribs wouldn't fit in the plastic trays, so I had the two stainless steel ones made up for me at a local fab shop. When I tried one out earlier today with half the alodine I will need, it was almost impossible to pour back into the original container without spilling a whole load. It also sloshed from one end to the other, no matter how careful I was, and although it never sloshed over it was only a matter of time. The solution? Hopefully the drain taps I have added will allow me to drain the trays without too much hassle. At least to a level where they are more manageable. And oh YES, I got to play with proseal again... yuck :-( Mind you, I did find that plain old Meths works wonders on cleaning it up (before it sets, that is). I ruined Jackie's kitchen scales too; she took it quite well - she has an excuse to buy some new ones now! :-) Since the alodine I need hasn't been delivered to me yet, I have the big wait until next weekend - I simply don't have time to clean, alodine and prime all in one evening after work. Priming is a weekend effort. At least I'm in no rush...
