Brief Description:  Rudder light

When I got home from the SportAvex Expo in Tauranga, I found a package from Vans. It was the Whelan rear position/strobe light. Must have been on back-order and beaten the wings here. No matter: I now had something to do! Never quite works out that way does it? After carefully measuring where to drill the centre pilot hole I then went at it carefully with the hole saw. Either I wasn't careful enough, or I fell foul of the poor fibreglass work on the rudder bottom More likely both. The hole saw ripped out laminates of glass cloth and took a big chunk out of the round bit where the light fits. After cleaning it up I got on with the task of re-building it with glass cloth. Ah well, if it doesn't work out at least I can order another rudder bottom. No drama. It'll keep me busy for the next week or so too; at least until the wings arrive. I hate fibreglass. Boy am I glad I didn't opt for a Glassair or Europa or something like that !! :-)
