Brief Description: Full Power Engine Runup and Prop Adjust
I tied the tailwheel of my aircraft to my tractor using a tow strap. Initial runup only achieved 2450 RPM with full throttle. Following Bob Barrows' instructions, I backed the governor down to the maximum possible RPM, so that the governor wasn't possibly impeding the RPM. There was no effect on max RPM. I then adjusted the static RPM using the hex bolt on the propellor hub by turning it counterclockwise about 1.75 turns, which then achieved about 2750 RPM at full throttle. I then dialed the governor back in so that it brought the prop RPM back down to 2700 RPM. I untied the aircraft and put the spinner back on and adjusted the prop cable so that full RPM will be achieved.
