I installed 6 ea Hall Brothers vortex generators on the undersurface of each horizontal stabilizer using 6.25 inch spacing set 2" aft of the hinge line, as suggested by their wind tunnel work. This was done in attempt to improve the effectiveness of the elevator at slow speeds so that I can raise the nose higher when using 3 or more notches of flaps. Undoubtably, the difficulty in raising the nose is compounded by my relatively forward CG, but I still need to try to improve the low speed elevator control. I flew a few flighst to see if the VG's would improve the elevator effectiveness. Qualitatively, control sensitivity was slightly increased and effectiveness was slightly improved. Overall, a worthwhile modification. I removed the VG's and will have them painted prior to final installation.
