Spent a good long while staring at the plans and doing an initial assembly of the spar caps and webs. I clamped the parts together and checked them against the plans several times until I was sure they were assembled correctly. After that, I drilled the first pilot holes in the left spar caps. I used a digital caliper to get the top spar cap and main web spaced correctly, and I clamped it in place. Then I drilled the pilot hole in the top spar cap. I used my double angle ruler to get the bottom spar cap spaced properly. I then clamped it in place and drilled the pilot hole in the bottom spar cap. So far I have done about 5 holes each in the top and bottom spar caps.
