Today I installed the right aileron and flap. This is the same procedure as done previously with the left aileron and flap. The flaps are actuated down by a cable and up by a coil type return spring. I will install the spring bracket on the flap spar as described in Step 8. However I plan to use a custom aftermarket spring that attaches around flap bracket. The coil spring supplied by the factory is very difficult to install. Most other builders complain about it. A builder in Maine has developed an alternative spring and I plan to use it. By installing bracket I’ll have the option of going back to the factory spring that was supplied with the kit if the aftermarket spring does not work for some reason.
