Brief Description:  Covered Bottom of Left Wing

I deburred all the aluminum surfaces, mostly the trailing edge and back of the leading edge metal. I cleaned all the aluminumsurfaces to be glued with acetone. I used cloth tape to cover all the sharp edges and rivet heads that were not perfectly smooth I covered the bottom of wing using the blanket method. Jak at the factory told me to line up the edge of the fabric with the leading edge metal where it contacts the front spar. That worked perfectly, the thickness of the edge of the fabric is just aboutthe same thickness as the leading edge metal. It makes for a very smooth transition. After letting the glue set up overnight I did the first 250 degree shrink. I only made one mistake that I was able to fix but I’m not going to say what it was. I suppose if someone looks closely they could find it.

It was taking forever to smooth out the little bubbles with the small iron. I checked the temperature calibration and found it was only getting to 140 degrees at the 250 degree setting. For some reason the iron has failed and now will only heat to 230 degrees. I’ll buy a new iron before I go any further.
