I finished installing the floorboards. The rear baggage floorboard and end baggage panel had previously been drilled for installation. I drilled the forward baggage floorboard and notched the foot well panel to clear the rudder pedal mounts. I drilled the elevator push rod tube cover and installed it temporarily. I cut a hole in the end baggage panel to accommodate the elevator push rod. I tested the elevator control with all parts temporarily installed. Ops good, no part of the elevator push rod touches any of the metal panels. I removed all of the panels. I plan to split the two floorboards under the elevator push rod cover to simplify removal and installation. I will install nut plates to connect the push rod cover to the floor boards and make a secure fit. I will still need to cut holes for the control cables, fuel lines, etc. The panels will then be painted.
Tomorrow I've got to clean up the shop. What a mess!
