Brief Description:  Fabricated Flop Tube Bracket

Well, I probably spent too much time on this, but it's done at least. This is the bracket you install between the rib and the stiffener on the lower tank skin. It supposedly helps to keep the Flop Tube clear of obstructions.

The plans call for a straight piece of aluminum, but reviewing some other sites I saw at least one other person use angle aluminum. That makes perfect sense to me. It's stronger and the curved edge is smoother.

Using a pair of tin-snips and a scotch-brite wheel on my drill this is what I came up with. I think it fits quite well. Slightly longer than the plans show, but I think it's important to keep that Flop Tube closer to the wing root.

Next up I will fabricate the trap-door assembly when I get back to Ohio on Friday.
