Very good night spent mostly on constructing the right wing tank. A lot more work than I expected trying to get those ribs cleco'd in place. Can't say that any one technique works better than another, but I do believe that cleco'ing every hole is the way to go. At least that brings things into alignment much better.
At the end of the night I couldn't resist setting the tank on the spar to check the fit. So far so good. Things line right up, but I still must install the backing plate. I found that in the trailer and will tackle this coming weekend.
Altogether a very relaxing evening, preceeded by three excellent touch and go's in the Cherokee. Working on realliy getting that nosewheel up high on landing. Gotta perfect that skill before learning how to fly a taildragger again. Been many many years since I've last done that.
Lighting not too good in the hangar. Getting that first rib in.
Final fit-check after tank was cleco'd together
Finally done with installing the ribs. Looks good in stand.
