Brief Description: Completed Riveting of Left Wing Ribs
So after a months delay, I finally gave up in trying to braze, solder, plug, whatever... the extra holes that I drilled in three ribs. After conferring with Van's, they assured me this was not good. Apparently the base of the ribs carry a lot of tension/stress, so it's not a good place to fool around with. Well, sixty-six dollars later I had three replacements. You can see these in Image #3. I ran out of the Sherwin Williams primer so I used the Napa 7220 Gray Self-Etching primer talked about on the Van's Airforce site.
On Saturday Jeremy was kind enough to stop by and help me rivet these last few ribs in place. I completed the rear-spar riveting today. Now I'm ready to hand this wing on the stand and start working the skins. Moving forward slowly, but still moving forward.
