Well, been a while but trying to get back in the saddle here. Have been travelling for work over the last month, so trying to figure out where I left off has been a challenge. Spent the better part of an hour searching the VAF web-site for tips and tricks on countersinking spars. Apparently there's an RVAtor from 2005 that discusses details, but have been unable to locate online. Oh well.
So...all I did was continue the #40 countersinking for the wing skins and access panels. Nothing I haven't done before. I'm using a small strip of aluminum angle to give the countersink bit a pilot for guidance. Seems to work just fine, but sure wish I would have bought two long pieces of angle instead. That way I could have drilled once, and had a backing plate for the other spar.
More to follow this evening. Hangar is getting kind of chilly so might need to buy some more kerosene.
