Short night of work following a great set of touch & go's with Jeremy Elder. Can't wait to finish up this latest round of work travel and get back to building every night. One more trip to Pearl Harbor and that should be it for a while.
Spent about an hour countersinking the Tank Skin attach point on the spar, along with the access plate rivet holes. Basically I made a backing plate that you can see in Picture 2 below to slide behind each plate-nut rivet hole to act as a guide for the countersink pilot. I ended up drilling six or seven sets of holes to match the spacing and hole-patterns on the spar. Work moves quickly as you clamp the backing plate along the Spar length.
