Brief Description:  Started Elevator Trim Tab

Started the Elevator Trim Tab this evening. Worked for about an hour after work.

Used my 2x8 bending rig to squeeze the Trim Tab so that it fit the Elevator Bend closely. Spent the remainder of the time trying to fashion the side-rib for the short end of the Tab. Started with a new E-703 and trimmed off the tip. You can see a new E-703 in picture 2 below. That's the piece I will use for the other side.

Well, after cutting twice on the Band Saw and then using the Scotch Brite grinder wheel multiple times, I finally have the piece about where I want it. It appears a bit on the short side, but structurally it should be fine. Had I left the tabs on the side of the Trim Tab, they would have bent down to fill in more of the gap, providing that I was successful the first time doing this. Will never know. Believe I'm better off going this route based on the number of post on this subject.

Plan to cut the other side-tab later this week. Have school work going on Wed and Thurs, so maybe later in the week will be my next chance to work on the plane.
