Brief Description: Vert Stab Spar and Rudder Stiffeners
Started prep work on the Rudder Stiffeners. They're all cut now, and the tedious part follows: Trimming, Smoothing, Prepping, etc. Started to work the edges for smoothness and to ensure all the pre-punched marking holes are trimmed out. Each piece will take about 15 minuts.
Towards the end of the night, I Cleco'd the Vert Stab Rear Spar Assy together. Still need to tape the rib-holes as per the directions, and then the fun begins: More Riveting!! Looking forward to it. Still must do a little research to determine rivet direction. I know how to orient the flush-mount rivets at the bottom of the rear spar, but not sure about the round-head rivets up top. Does the Factory Head go on the thinner spar side, or the heavy duty stiffener side?? Will surf the net looking for examples.
