Brief Description:  Completed the rudder trailing edge bend.

It took me several attempts at bending the rudder trailing edge before I was happy with it. I suggest that if you build a home made bending brake as illustrated in the manual, do it the same day you plan on bending the rudder. My brake warped a bit (cupped) and I had to disassemble and flip one of the 2X8 boards to get a tighter fit between them.

I did not use a 1/8" diameter dowel as some builders did. I used a combination of inserting the rudder about 3/4 of the way into the brake as illustrated by Vans and also pushed it all the way in up against the hinges as well.

I was unable to bend the rudder to a point where it would just sit on the Aft spar.. I needed slight pressure to close the skin.

After some more research on the forums I used my edge former to tighten up the radius at the trailing edge. I used some thin rubber material between the tool and the skin to prevent damage and used very slight pressure to tighten up the bend.

This works well but it would be easy to over do it. Squeeze a tiny bit at a time and check how the skin sits on the main spar.
